    Michael was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Oglebay Norton, a former Great Lakes shipping and mining company with $600 million in annual revenues. Michael led it through a voluntary Chapter 11 process, in which he completed a financial restructuring and business portfolio reorganization.

    Before becoming Oglebay’s CEO, he served as its President and COO and was in charge of the company’s fleet of vessels, 24 mines and 1,800 employees. Prior to this, Michael was President and Partner of Michigan Limestone Operations. While there, he negotiated the $100 million sale of that company to Oglebay Norton.

    Prior to joining Michigan Limestone, Michael held various technical and managerial roles in the aerospace and electronic warfare industry with Hughes Aircraft and Magnavox.

    Throughout his career, he has been involved with several business start-ups, more than a dozen corporate refinancings/bond offerings and over 50 M&A transactions.

    In addition to serving on the boards of several Resilience Capital portfolio companies, he currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Euramax and Rand Logistics. Michael is also a board member for US Concrete. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Breckenridge Creative Arts, a not-for-profit organization. Past board positions he has held comprise 10 corporations and multiple non-profits.

    Michael received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and his MBA from Loyola Marymount University.
